Shop swap!

Two posts in one day! I signed up for this swap, the Shop Swap and it sounds so fun! Basically, everyone exchanges stores with someone else and then review an item that is sent to them by their partner. Its a great way to get exposure to your shop and find a new shop as well!

Speaking of Swaps, only 6 days left to get your entries in for the Christmas Gift Tutorial Swap! We’ve got LOTS of participants, so don’t miss out on the fun! Deadline to sign up is September 27.

SWAP- Christmas Gift Tutorial Swap!

Bethany from A Wednesday Afternoon and I are hosting a Christmas Gift Tutorial SWAP! With Christmas just 115 days away, we are all trying to figure out which tutorials and projects we’ve found online to use for Christmas gifts. How about a Take Along Race Track and Toy Car Holder or a Cottage Chic Apron Tutorial? The options are endless and at times, overwhelming.

In this SWAP, you can make a Christmas gift using any fabric or any project using Christmas fabric for your partner using one of your tutorials in your To-Do list. Include the finished product with a print out of the tutorial (with the link of where you found it) with materials to make another object from the tutorial. Easy and you can check that pattern of your To Do list and hopefully you will find a new tutorial from your partner!

We will subclassify everyone who signs up in hopes of getting you with a partner who will make something you love. This is open to all crafts- sewing, crochet, knit, etc. So send an email to craftyswap@aol.com with this information:

– Name, email address, shipping address
– Brief description of who you are, where you live, etc.
– What types of tutorial would you like to TRY from these categories? Baby, Home, Women’s accessories, Kid Boy, Kid Girl
– What types of tutorial would you like to RECEIVE from the above categories?
*You can pick as many categories as you want
– whether or not you will ship internationally

Isn’t this fun??  Here are the dates to remember:

– September 27- LAST day to sign up
– September 30- date you will receive your partner by at the latest
– October 21- deadline to have the project in the mail to your partner

Let’s Swap some Christmas gifts!

Grab the button in the sidebar too!

Swaps

As my crafting addiction has grown, I’ve found all kinds of new things to do and enjoy. I have checked out 4 books from the library and made a pair of pajama pants from one of the books. I’ve most recently signed up for several swaps! I signed up for a Christmas in July swap and was hooked up with Cathy in New York. She sent me several dishtowels with crocheted loops on the top, a beautiful crocheted baby blanket, and a gift card to Joanns! 🙂 So awesome.

I also signed up for an I-Spy Swap. Each person sends in 10 squares of 20 different fabrics. Then Meredith and Wendy mix them all up and send you back 200 individual squares of different novelty fabrics. You can put them together and made a quilt full of I Spy objects. I can’t wait to get the fabrics back!
I signed up for Something Made, Something to be made swap too. I have to make something for Bethany, my partner, and then also send something to be made into something else. I am working on her gifts, and I can’t wait to find out whether or not she likes them.
Finally, I signed up for Craft Hope, a great idea. She finds different worthy organizations and everyone makes something to help the organization. Project 2, in which I participated, sent blanket, booties, hankies, and other requested items to an orphanage in India. I sent a blanket, several hankies, and two pillowcases. I hope the kids enjoy them!
This is a great way to feed my addiction. My sister-in-law, Mandi and I have also decided all Christmas gifts are going to be handmade, so we are working on that too. I’ve got Bennett (my newest nephew), Grandma, Mom, and Brittany’s gifts planned, I just need to get working on them.
Pictures of crafting addiction coming soon.
