Fearfully and wonderfully made

“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Psalm 139: 13-14

Last night, I attended the banquet for the Plant City Pregnancy Care Center, A Celebration of Life. In the last few years, they have been able to purchase an ultrasound machine to show women their babies before they make a decision to save their baby or go somewhere else to abort it. This past year, 90 % of the women who saw an ultrasound SAVED THEIR BABY.

This past session, my prior boss, State Representative Trey Traviesa, worked hard with current State Senator Ronda Storms to pass legislation that would require abortion clinics to provide the option of an ultrasound to women before agreeing to an abortion. The Pro-choice side said that this was an attempt to over-regulate abortion clinics and to cause abortion clinics undue costs in requiring them to purchase this expensive machine. The bill ultimately passed the House of Representatives, but died on the Senate floor in the last few moments of Session.

I believe that viewing the ultrasound- seeing your baby and hearing his or her heartbeat is information that is vital to the women. I’ve heard time and time again of mothers who experience grave emotional pain because of their abortion, and I’ve yet to hear of anyone who regretted keeping their baby.

If you have had an abortion, God’s grace covers you. There is no condemnation, there is no judgement, only mercy and grace to forgive you of your mistake. Rebecca Porter works with Operation Outcry to help women heal from their abortions.

If you are considering an abortion, DON’T end the life of the precious child growing inside of you. No matter the circumstances surrounding the conception, that child is a gift from God and will go on to do GREAT things in His name. Find the Plant City Pregnancy Center. They have resources that can help you through your pregnancy and beyond.

We have two presidential candidates running for the top position in the United States. Election Day is November 4, which is fast coming upon us. These presidential candidates, and their Vice-Presidential running mates, have been very clear with their position on abortion. I urge you to research their views. If you don’t know where to go, the Christian Coalition of Florida has great information on their positions. Research what these candidates stand for, and what they want to accomplish while in office, especially as it relates to abortion. And then, take your research and VOTE on November 4. Vote your values!

Former state Representative Dennis Baxley said last night, there are 60 million Evangelical Christians in the USA. Half of them aren’t even registered to vote. The other half do not vote their values. Can you imagine how powerful we the Christian remnant would be if we all got involved in politics- if we all VOTED? We’d blow them outta the water! If Christians are silent, then the other voice is the only one heard. Don’t be silent. Be loud and stand firm, with the LORD ON YOUR SIDE!
